While you are filling your planner full of plans for school lessons and activities, don’t forget to intentionally schedule down times too.  There will be days you and your children will just need to get out and enjoy the sun.  So, instead of bad weather days, try to include “Sun” days, “Fun” days. These days can lead to lots of fun and exploring. It gives your kids a chance to learn about some things outside that just may not be in a textbook. Hopefully these moments will refresh your homeschool when it starts to feel dull. Homeschooling isn’t only about academic education. A Prayer for Yourself as a Wife and for Your Marriage

As you pray for others, don't forget to pray for yourself. Photo by Heather

Being a wife is hard work. No one can prepare you for this role in your life.

Although we have many similarities that show we are women, every woman is unique in her own way.

We all have emotions and react to life situations differently.

We have different gifts and talents from the Lord, as well as, different strengths and weaknesses.

Some of us were born with a meek and quiet spirit, while others have a very strong will, with a boldness we struggle to tame.

Just as women have similarities and differences, so does marriage.

Each marriage is unique. While marriages may appear similar, they all have different couples.

Each couple has their own set of personalities, talents, gifts, strengths, weaknesses, struggles, and gifts from the Lord.

But there is one thing every woman and marriage has in common. We all have the same Lord and Savior to lean on.

Jesus is there when we just need to talk.

Jesus is there to comfort us when we have a bad day.

Jesus is there to celebrate with us in our joys.

Jesus is there when we don't know what to do.

Jesus is there when we are tired and wore out.

Jesus is there when we need forgiveness or need to forgive.

Jesus is there when our world seems turned upside down.

Jesus is always here waiting for us to call out to him. Let us do that now as we pray.

Dear Jesus,

You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Blessed is your name above every name.

I ask that you forgive me where I have sinned against you. Forgive me for not always representing you well. Please forgive me for not always having the right attitude.

Lord, I ask that you please give me a pure and righteous heart.

Help me to put you first in everything, especially in our marriage.

Jesus, I cannot be a godly wife or even a good wife without you. Give me all I need to be the wife you created me to be for my husband. Fill me full of your Holy Spirit.

Help me to remember, grace is the free and unmerited favor of God. Help me to give my husband grace. Even when I feel like he doesn't deserve it. Help me to remember I may not deserve it either. I sin too, but you offer it to me freely. So, I should be willing to offer it freely to my husband.

Lord, help me to remember, my husband is not my enemy. Instead, help me to see my husband as a gift from you.

Help me to see my husband and our marriage as my first ministry.

Help me to remember marriage and serving my husband is NOT something I have to do. It is something I GET to do. This is a GIFT and a PRIVILEGE from God.

Help me to put my husbands needs above my own.

Help me to be encouraging and Christlike, and keep me from destroying or tearing my husband down by my words or actions.

Help me increase my love for you Lord and for my husband.

Help me to overlook inadequacies and faults in my husband.

Help me to show my husband respect through my words and actions when he is around and even when he is not around.

Help me to think of ways to bless him.

Help me to listen to him attentively and talk to him.

Help me to be quick to forgive, and not hold on to grudges, unforgiveness, anger, bitterness, past mistakes or hurts.

Help me to leave the past in the past and never resurrect it!

Help me to be quick to confess and ask for forgiveness when I make a mistake.

Help me to pray for my husband daily and to be intentional about it.

Help me to be a peace maker.

Help me to be positive, energetic, and joyful.

Give me a sense of humor.

Give me the strength and wisdom to be the wife you have called me to be.

Help me to see our marriage through your eyes Lord.

Keep me from being a contentious wife.

Help me to choose my words wisely, and to think before I speak or react.

Help me to have and understanding heart towards my husband and his feelings.

Help me to be in every moment, to make every second count.

Help us both to be trustworthy and faithful in all our ways.

Keep me from being the foolish woman who destroys her house. Instead, make me like the wise woman who builds her house up.

Help me to always have harmony with my husband.

I ask that you tear down any walls that have been built between us.

Help us to lean on you Lord and one another. Your word tells me, "Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12 NKJV

So, I claim this for my marriage right now. That we will stand firm together with you, and we will not be broken apart.

Lord Jesus, destroy any plans or strategies Satan is forming against us and our marriage right now in JESUS NAME!

Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer.

Amen
